If you have a disease that is on the VA list of diseases found here https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/hazardous-materials-exposure/agent-orange/ and you were stationed in Panama between January 1958 and December 1999, you should have a claim filed with the VA for benefits.
Even though Panama is not yet on the approved VA list, four veterans have won for herbicide exposure while stationed in Panama Canal Zone. Make sure you say “exposed to the dioxin contained in the chemical 2,4,5-T”. Do NOT say “Agent Orange.” There is absolutely no difference and never was anything but a code name for Agent Orange because of the stripe on the barrel. Commercial herbicides were used tactically in war.
