If you have a disease that is on the VA list of diseases found here https://www.va.gov/disability/eligibility/hazardous-materials-exposure/agent-orange/ and you were stationed in Panama between January 1958 and December 1999, you should have a claim filed with the VA for benefits.
Even though Panama is not yet on the approved VA list, about a dozen veterans have won for herbicide exposure while stationed in Panama Canal Zone. Make sure you say “exposed to the dioxin contained in the chemical 2,4,5-T”. Do NOT say “Agent Orange.” There is absolutely no difference and never was anything but a code name for Agent Orange because of the stripe on the barrel. Commercial herbicides were used tactically in war.
